Real estate photography and video in Port Coquitlam

Port Coquitlam is a family market on tight lots, and tight lots are where wide angle discipline shows. A frontage shot from too close bows the house; a room shot too wide sells a lie the buyer discovers at the showing. We shoot it straight, which sounds obvious and is the most common failure in this price band.

The local market

What we are usually asked to shoot in Port Coquitlam.

  1. 01

    Family homes and townhome complexes

The core of this market. Accurate interiors, a clean frontage and a plan.

  2. 02

    Citadel Heights and Riverwood

Newer stock and better lots, where an elevated frontage frame adds real value.

  3. 03

    Mary Hill and older stock

Character and renovation quality are the selling points, and both reward detail frames.

Tight lots, and the discipline they demand

Port Coquitlam is a family market built on narrow lots, and narrow lots are where wide angle discipline shows. There is often nowhere to stand far enough back for a frontage, and the reflex is to reach for a wider lens. That bows the house outward at the edges, which any buyer notices without being able to say why, and it is the single most common failure we see in this price band.

The answer is lens choice and camera position rather than more width: shoot from the right distance at the right height and correct the verticals, or shoot the frontage in two frames rather than forcing one. It is slower and it is the difference between a house that looks like itself and one that looks like a fisheye.

The same restraint applies indoors. A room shot too wide sells a lie the buyer discovers at the first showing, and an agent who has walked a disappointed buyer around a room smaller than its photographs does not book that photographer twice.

Where the value sits

Citadel Heights and Riverwood carry the newer stock and the better lots, and those are the ones where an elevated frontage frame adds something real rather than being an upsell. Mary Hill and the older neighbourhoods reward detail work, because what buyers are judging there is renovation quality.

Townhome complexes rarely need drone here, and we will say so rather than adding the line item.
