HDR photography in Abbotsford has one recurring problem that the rest of our coverage area does not share to the same degree: the new build corridor in the west is full of homes with very large window walls facing open ground. Expose for the room and the glass blows to white; expose for the view and the room goes muddy. Neither is what the buyer will see standing there.

What changes in Abbotsford.

Hand-blended brackets are the answer rather than a single frame pushed in software. We shoot the room and the window separately and blend them, so the ceiling stays white, the wall colour stays what it actually is, and the field or the mountain outside the glass is still there. On the Marshall Road set that window treatment is the difference between rooms that look finished and rooms that look like a builder's snapshot.

On the agricultural side of the city the same technique does a different job. Farm houses often have small windows and deep rooms, and the blend is what keeps a kitchen from reading as a cave with one bright rectangle in it.
